Nervous about an upcoming dental procedure? Suffering from dental anxiety? At #thesmiledoc, we’re here to help with complimentary nitrous oxide sedation dentistry in Leander.
Free sedation with every appointment
Relax with nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
Nitrous oxide has no serious after-effects
You can drive yourself home after your appointment
Keep in mind that we do NOT offer IV sedation at our practice, only nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation and oral sedation.
At #thesmiledoc, your comfort is our priority. With nitrous oxide sedation dentistry, you can sit back and relax while we restore your smile.
With laughing gas, you will feel calm and euphoric, and a little bit disconnected from what’s happening around you. While you may feel a bit “fuzzy” or confused, you will remain completely aware and conscious throughout your treatment.
Laughing gas functions as an analgesic (pain reliever). When it’s used alongside topical numbing products, laughing gas ensures that you won’t feel a thing during your dental procedure.
Laughing gas makes it easier to sit through long dental procedures. It can also help with complications like a fear of needles and dental anxiety in general.
"The staff and Dr. Reid were very courteous. They seemed genuinely happy to see me and were attentive and professional. It is nice to go to an office where the people actually seem happy to work there and really listen and care about what you tell them." "Best dentist I've ever had also the dental technicians."
At #thesmiledoc, we want all of our patients to feel safe and comfortable. So whether you’re having your teeth cleaned, having your wisdom teeth extracted, or getting a dental crown, we offer free laughing gas sedation.
As long as you are a good candidate for laughing gas sedation, you can be sedated during any appointment with Dr. Armando Reid. This ensures you can feel comfortable and relaxed while you get the dental care you need in Leander!
At #thesmiledoc, it is our mission to keep all of our patients informed and educated about all of their dental options. If you don’t see an answer to your laughing gas sedation dentistry question, give us a call at (512) 240-7200 and one of our knowledgeable team members will help you decide if sedation is right for you.
Laughing gas sedation doesn’t have any serious side effects. Once your treatment has concluded, Dr. Reid will pump oxygen through your nose mask for a few minutes, which will help purge the laughing gas from your lungs and your bloodstream.
However, it’s common to feel some minor side effects for a few minutes after your treatment. You may feel a bit confused and nauseated. Shivering, headache, and fatigue are less common, but may occur. If present, these effects will subside quickly.
As long as you’re healthy, don’t have any past health conditions that may interfere with laughing gas sedation, or have a history of drug abuse, you’re likely a good candidate for laughing gas at our office. To ensure you can be sedated safely, Dr. Reid will discuss your past and present health with you before beginning treatment.
